Turkstream is a project that pushes industry boundaries from a technical perspective: TurkStream will be the first 81 cm sized system to be laid at depths of over 2 kilometers. Offshore pipelines consist of thousands of pipe sections which each 12 meters long.
Since 2003, the central and eastern parts of Turkey has provided gas through the Blue Stream gas pipeline.
The Turk Stream pipeline, on the other hand, guarantees the annual flow of 31.5 billion cubic meters of uninterrupted natural gas to European countries in direct connection with Russia's natural gas reserves.
Under the Turk Stream project to develop the necessary infrastructure in Turkey and other countries will support the modernization of the sector.
Turk Stream also will help to increase Turkey's geostrategic importance with an annual capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters. It serves as a bridge between East and West and Turkey, which has become an increasingly important regional energy hub, will be a key connection point for South and Southeast Europe for the gas supply together with Turk Stream.
